Kwn - with all due respect

As an r’n’b girlie, I have been FED by Kwn. She really has come to bring back the true essence of true yearning with her album with all due respect.

She first popped onto my radar with her infamous song Worst Behaviour which features none other than an absolute babe Kehlani. The two of them together and that video, literally left everyone stunned (in a good way). This is why visuals are necessary - BRING THEM BACK! The song had already gone viral, but the video propelled it into a completely different place. Do what I say was obviously going to be another single off the album. How sensational of a song! How greedddddyyyyyyy kwn! Hit after hit. I love when an artist stays true to their sound and has viral moments, it shows that they are truly that person and that she is.

Kwn sits in a very nice pocket of old school r’n’b with a modern twist. It’s a sound that was missing from the scene and she has executed it so well. Back of the club is 100% without a doubt, full on r’n’b - you want to be at the back of the club with your man or girl to this. It just captures a sexy moment in time. Her vocals are smooth and glide across the song like honey - and that bass?! In the club?! It will go off and I for one cannot wait to sway my hips and entice somebody.

We do get another lovely feature from FLO. This was a big suprise and a reminder that those girls are grown. I adore FLO so much, as a girl group they have mastered their vocals and they become one voice, which adds such so much layers and their harmonies just give that soft/silky texture to the song. This feature was such a good choice and paired with Kwn’s sound/backing vocals - a beautiful blend and transported me to a TIMEEEEE.

The album is 9 songs long and I think that was very intentional. It’s straight to the point - bringing back the soulful, sexy sound of r’n’b. However, it ends with War to be Over which I love so much. It definitely has that London sound more so than the other songs on the album. This song touches on a deeper emotion within a relationship and the composition of the music just screams LONDON, (if you get what I mean).

I have had the album on repeats since it dropped and I will continue to do so. Every song is exactly where it needs to be and every single song makes sense.

Kwn did exactly what she set out to do and I’m here for it all.
